How to increase the attachment size in Office 365


As the standard size of the message is 25 MB. Many Office 365 users face issues in increasing the attachment size of messages. Hence, the need for the Office 365 backup tool to increase the size of attachments. 

Manual Approach
  1. Increase the email size limit through the Exchange Admin Center.
  2. First, Sign in to the Account of Office 365.
  3. Then, tap on the Admin centres and pick Exchange.
  4. Next, choose the recipients and tap on the Mailboxes from the Exchange admin centre.
  5. After that, tap on … icon and choose Set default message size restrictions.
  6. Finally, set-up the Maximum size for the sent message and receive a message and tap on the OK button from the default message size restrictions.
Increase email size limit for several users through Bulk Edit
  • Choose All Mailboxes, under the Bulk Edit, choose message Size Restrictions and tap on update.
  • From the Bulk edit message size restrictions screen first, set-up the Maximum size for the sent message and maximum size for the received message and lastly tap on the Save button.

An Alternative tool to increase the attachment size in Office 365

In case, you are unable to perform the manual procedure then use a third-party tool. The users can use Office365 Backup and Restore Tool.
