In
the Past version of Exchange Server like Microsoft Exchange 2007,
there was the warehouse where the applicant's mailboxes were
collected. User can easily develop a backup for storage groups and
can preserve them. But after Microsoft Exchange 2010, the warehouse
was replaced with databases, because of this it becomes complex to
manage a brick-level backup of Exchange data.
To
troubleshoot, the backup issue, Microsoft has announced some other
methods in the Exchange structure by which applicants can convert the
EDB files to a PST format for backup purposes.
Causes
for EDB to PST Conversion
There
can be various reasons behind an EDB to PST conversion, and some of
them are following –
-
When EDB file gets corrupted, and the user wants to get back the data.
-
To minimize mailbox size and to improve server performance.
-
To conserve storage space (and avoid extra expenditure on infrastructure).
-
When back up is required for Exchange mailboxes.
-
Want to turn some mailbox data to another place.
-
To keep data for legal or compliance requirements.
-
To lower the chances of EDB file exploitation & Jet errors.
On
personal recommendation, I would like to tell manual hacks are
time-consuming and may damage user data also. To overcome these issue
user must choose one of the best Expert solutions.
